Azerate 218 – the Eleven Anti-Cosmic Powers and the Key to Chaos

By Tommy Eriksson

The name Azerate emerges as the esoteric and hidden name of the eleven anti-cosmic powers, forces that stand in direct opposition to the order of the cosmos. These powers, found both in modern chaos-gnosticism and the Qliphothic Kabbalah, are not to be understood as historical gods within any established religion. Instead, they represent a system of force currents, an anti-cosmic structure that exists beyond the laws of creation and the ordered spherical reality that the cosmic forces seek to uphold.

Under the name Azerate, these eleven separate forces are united into one entity, an eleven-headed dragon that, within the Temple of the Black Light tradition, symbolizes the very core of anti-cosmos and enables a direct influence upon the cosmic barriers.

Azerate does not appear in classical religious texts such as the Hebrew Kabbalah, the Zohar, or medieval grimoires. The name first appears in modern esoteric literature, particularly in Liber Azerate (2002), published by the Temple of the Black Light, formerly known as the Misanthropic Luciferian Order. Within this tradition, Azerate is defined as the collective name for the eleven anti-cosmic gods, each of which operates in opposition to the ten spheres of the Tree of Life. Where the cosmic forces uphold order and balance, the eleven-headed form of Azerate exists as a concentrated manifestation of chaos—a dark counterforce that can be both symbolically and ritually channeled to influence the world beyond the ordered cosmos.

The name Azerate, sometimes listed as Azrat, has within this tradition a numerological value of 218. By reducing the sum 2 + 1 + 8, one obtains 11, a number that stands beyond the ten spheres of the Tree of Life and which, in the Temple of the Black Light tradition, represents the anti-cosmic. The number 11 thus becomes a symbol of unity and transcendent chaos—a structure beyond the cosmos that can nonetheless operate within its framework when the eleven forces are united.

These eleven forces are often described individually as separate demons or entities that counteract the cosmic principles, but when united under the name of Azerate, they transform into a concentrated force, often depicted as an eleven-headed black dragon. This dragon is a ritualized and symbolic representation of the chaotic potential capable of breaking through cosmic barriers. Through its collective energy, Azerate can “turn the keys” to the locked gates, open pathways for macrocosmic chaos, and pave the way for anti-cosmic gnosis.

In ritual practice, the name and symbolism of Azerate are used as a channel for anti-cosmic flow. The name is often vibrated during rituals involving the Broken Pentagram, a microcosmic gateway that opens toward macrocosmic chaos. Its exoteric symbol, the hendecagram—an eleven-pointed star—is used as a focal point upon the black altar. Through this symbolic concentration, the chaos-gnostic magician can direct the force currents of Azerate toward both microcosmic and macrocosmic aims, making the ritual a conscious incorporation of anti-cosmic energy into the world.

Beyond the numerological and ritualistic aspects, there exists a deeper symbolism within the name Azerate and its structures. The eleven anti-cosmic powers represent more than mere forces—they are archetypes of the principles of chaos, opposites of cosmic norms, and metaphorical expressions of liberation from the limitations of creation. By studying Azerate, the magician can understand the relationship between chaos and order, and how anti-cosmic energy may be channeled, focused, and manipulated to evoke a deeper gnosis.

Azerate is thus both a name and a ritual engine, both a symbol and a tool. It is the eleven-headed dragon that unites separate anti-cosmic currents, a concentration of chaotic force that opposes the order of the cosmos, and a key to the anti-cosmic mystery. It is a central component of modern chaos-gnosticism, a living point of manifestation for anti-cosmic philosophy, and a portal through which the wrathful chaos may flow into the world.
